C1888 Oil Portrait Of Young Girl By Gladys Watkins 19thc Paintings Of Children

We are pleased to offer for sale this rather beautiful Victorian oil painting of a pretty young girl of around ten years of age, who looks towards the artist with concentration and serious expression.

She has a fringe, long mid brown wavy hair and grey eyes. She is wearing a burgundy dress with a lace collar.

The artist is Gladys Watkins, who has signed the painting with her full name under the mount to the left and again to the right as G. Watkins Pinxit 1888.

The painting is on canvas and well preserved under glass and has had a new mount fitted.

The decorative frame is a 3 inch Italian gilt frame which suits the portrait very well and is supplied wired and ready to hang.
