An extremely well painted marine seascape by listed artist Robert Dumont Smith,of two sailing vessels negotiating rough seas around the coastline,with a small rowing boat heading out to sea.

The painting is executed on artists board in very fine detail and has accurately captured the blue skyline and white water crests of waves breaking towards the headland.

There can be seen on the far horizon,a three masted schooner transversing across the sea.

Very realistic painting of the sea and full of atmosphere.

The pierced swept frame is a beautifully detailed original example in good order.
