Enville Estate Landscape Oil Painting Of Horses In A Meadow By Walter Robin Jennings

We are delighted to offer for sale this large, lovely oil on canvas by the artist Walter Robin Jennings, who has signed the painting W. R. Jennings in the lower right hand corner.


The artist has not on this occasion given us the location, however, on a previous paintings, he kindly inscribed the location on the back on the canvas as Enville Estate (Enville is between Stourbridge and Bridgenorth, Nr. Kinver).


The artist often painted his equine paintings with Enville as the location.

The painting depicts three horses, a grey and two bays, one with a blaze and one with a star, standing just beneath the trees at the edge of a wood, on a sunny day.

Walter Robin Jennings born in Dudley Staffordshire in 1927 & died 2005 and was an active artist throughout most of his working life.

He was a landscape and animal painter, primarily in oil and exhibited widely.

His work has been reproduced in card form by Medici, Royle and Solomon & Whitehead.

He sadly died in Kidderminster in 2005.

There is one of his paintings in the National Collection and can be viewed at Dudley Museum.

The painting is framed in a 3 3/8 inch pierced and ornate swept gilt frame.
It is supplied with new brass hangers, new brass picture wire and will be ready to hang.

Condition:

Excellent condition. The canvas is clean and taut with a small amount of fine craquelure in the sky area, but no paint loss or overpainting. The frame is in very good condition.
