TAMWORTH CASTLE
Tamworth Castle, a Grade I listed building,[1] is a Norman castle, located next to the River Tame, in the town of Tamworth in Staffordshire, England.

Overlooking the River Tame, the site has been fortified since Anglo-Saxon times, when �thelfl�d, the Mercian Queen, built a burh to defend against Danes (Vikings); it served as a residence of the Mercian kings. Rebuilt and enlarged by the Normans, it is today one of the best preserved Norman motte-and-bailey castles in England.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
JOSEPH MALLARD WILLIAM TURNER RA (baptised 14 May 1775�Died 19 December 1851) was an English Romanticist landscape painter. Turner was considered a controversial figure in his day, but is now regarded as the artist who elevated landscape painting to an eminence rivalling history painting.[1]
