I am pleased to offer for sale this beautiful oil on canvas by the very sought after and talented French artist Roger de la Corbiere.

The artist has signed the painting in the lower right hand bottom corner.

A stunning late evening view off of the Brittany coastline depicting the sun low in the sky and nearing sunset,with a gentle wave of water breaking on shore beneath rocky outcrops.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
ROGER DE LA CORBIERE, 1893-1974, was a French artist who was born in Vienna. He studied under the Russian painter Choltse, who was a great exponent of light and shade particularly in snow scenes.
>
He exhibited at the Paris Salon for 35 years, receiving the Silver Medal in 1954. In 1957 he received the Bronze Medal from the Salon des Independants. The French State acquired several of his paintings in 1925.
His painting are in the collections of many well known persons throughout the world.

He worked mainly from his studio in Brittany, but also spent some time in the Riviera. His daughter carried on the family tradition, painting similar scenes.

The painting is beautifully presented in a quality washed gilt gallery frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Excellent condition throughout There are no repairs to the canvas which is clean and taut.
There is a label verso with artist name typed on it and a tear in the gum paper just on the corner, otherwise all nicely sealed on remainder throughout.
