We are pleased to offer for sale this beautifully painted oil on canvas by the talented Victorian artist ALBERT DUNINGTON.This fine landscape painting depicts a view of Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, seen from below on the banks of the river Wye at Bakewell in Derbyshire, with cattle watering.
ALBERT DUNINGTON B1860-D1928
Albert Dunington was a painted in oils and in watercolours,specialising in landscapes, coastal and animals.
He was born in Lenton, Nottsingham and later lived in Manchester at 45 Warwick Street. He exhibited several times in Nottingham Castle Museum (Nottingham Society of Artists) and later at Manchester City Art Gallery.
His surname was often mis-catalogued with two "n"s.
He is listed in The Painters in the Northern Counties of England and Wales by Dennis Child and in The Dictionary of British Artists.
SIGNATURE
The artist has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner with his initials A.D.

CONDITION
This painting is in nice order throughout,with just one tiny repair patch on the back of the canvas,which is otherwise fine and cannot be seen from the front.
There is the usual very slight signs of craquelure consistant with with age as is normal.
