ABOUT Quirijn or Quiringh Gerritsz van Brekelenkam (1622/29, Zwammerdam – 1669/79, Leiden),[1] was a Dutch Baroque genre painter. He probably studied under Gerard Dou, and as a result his paintings from the 1640s and 1650s are similar to those of the Leiden fijnschilders.
Walther Bernt writes about Brekelenkam: “His numerous depictions of workshops, kitchens and taverns have a distinctly individual style;
CONDITION Fine quality painting, past full professional restoration.Frame having signs of old worm which has been long dead.Overall very good order in deed for over 200 years of age.
Highly collectable early art with the label as provenance by Christie’s that will only increase in value, a fine potential investment.
